Greenland is one of the territories of the Kingdom of Denmark. Copenhagen (København) manages vast territories, unlike what you think of being a smaller European Union member State, geographically and demographically.
Rich in resources, Denmark is one of the five countries bordering the North Pole, which now, with the gradual melting of ice, it becomes the final stage of terrestrial exploration, thanks to huge energy and mineral resources potentially extractable.

There is a unit of the Royal Danish Navy, the “Sirius Sledge Patrol” [Sirius Slædepatruljen] responsible for supervision of the boundary between Greenland and the North Pole. This unit has 2 men on sleds from eleven to fifteen dogs each, for a year or so.
